Opening for Hospitalist/Nocturnist Physician in MN Opportunity in Virginia, MN Duluth 65m, Minneapolis 200m Full Time H1 Visa Sponsored Permanent Position Employed Opportunity - Physician led, professionally managed organization - Shifts are 7 on 7 off - One physician and one Advanced Practice Clinician with an average of 6 admissions and 6 discharges (combined) during the am shift and one physician during the night shift - Procedures not required - Open ICU - No home call - Full laboratory; radiology to include MRI and CT services - Hospital is an 83-bed hospital, Level IV Trauma Center and certified Stroke Ready facility - On-campus multi-specialty clinic includes: Primary Care with Integrated Behavioral Health, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Occupational Medicine, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Consultative Pediatrics, General Surgery, and numerous visiting specialties - EPIC as EMR that is integrated with entire Essentia system - Certified as HIMSS EMRAM (Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model) Level 7 for both our Inpatient and Ambulatory facilities About the area: On the Trail, the city of Virginia is located 60 miles north of Duluth and 100 miles south of the Canadian border. Two major highways, Hwy 53 running north and south, and Hwy 169 running east and west serve this community. Virginia has natural scenic beauty and many mining attractions and festivals. Virginia Lake and Silver Lake offer recreational fishing and an opportunity to see the worlds largest floating loon. The lakes are located in the center of town, with the Mesabi Trail running along the north and west side. Chestnut street between 1st and 6th Avenue is on the National Register of Historic Places as the Virginia Commercial Historic District. A few other buildings on the National Register include Kaleva Hall and the Bnai Abraham Museum and Cultural Center. The Virginia Heritage Museum is located alongside Olcott Park, a beautiful park on Virginias north side. The Laurentian Divide recreation area, just north of if town, signifies the continental divide where water is split into the Lake Superior and Hudson Bay watersheds and offers a picnic area and hiking trails. Summer festivals, such as the annual Land of the Loon Festival in June, celebrate the unique ethnic mix in the area. For golfing enthusiasts, a newly renovated 18-hole golf course is available.
