Job Summary
Job Description
To prospective teammates,
I am the medical director for Sound’s hospital medicine practice at Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington, Washington. I have proudly been a part of Sound for over ten years and welcome interest from physicians coming out of training or desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your next steps:
People
- Join our established team of four physicians and two advanced practice providers.
- Our team is a rich tapestry of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
- Embrace the opportunity to engage in committee work at the hospital, as we highly encourage participation and collaboration in these initiatives.
Practice
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases. We work in a small acute care hospital with an open ICU and limited subspecialty support. Our physicians are comfortable with basic vent management; procedural competency is a plus.
- We value time with our families and the outdoors, so we offer a flexible schedule (10 on/10 off) and mutual coverage for team members’ absences.
- We meet at least monthly as a team for important updates and training; all attend our meetings.
- The annual salary for this position is between $300-$340K.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- Focusing on growth and development is a key feature of Sound Medical Group practices, where teammates can expand their careers locally and within the broader medical group.
- We are a community-minded team and encourage team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
Arlington is a beautiful town where you can drive down Olympic Street and never hit a stoplight. It is a fast-growing and flourishing community. There are multiple festivals throughout the year, from the Festival of the River during the summer to the Hometown Holidays in the winter. If you like the outdoors, Arlington is 30 minutes to magnificent mountain adventures, hiking, fishing, camping, mountain bike trails, or in the opposite direction, 20 minutes to the ocean for sea kayaking, fishing, sailing, or whatever watersport you prefer. Rivers and streams are abundant in the area for fishing.
