As a Hospitalist Medical Director with USACS, you’ll be responsible for managing hospitalist medicine services by collaborating with the hospital and nursing leadership while offering support to your physician staff. As a leader for both the hospital and US Acute Care Solutions, you will influence broad company decisions and help facilitate the development of new leaders.

  • Oversee hospitalist service operations
  • Supervise HM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution
  • Represent the staff in the community and within the hospital

HOSPITALIST SERVICE

  • Average Daily Encounters: 123
  • Some procedures required
  • Open ICU
  • EMR: Epic
  • 7 days on/off block scheduling
  • The hospitalist team includes 6 full-time physicians, 6 full-time APPs, 2 full-time nocturnists
  • Three physicians, 3 APPs round at a time, overnight in-house nocturnist is responsible for admissions, codes, rapid responses, tele-nocturnist covers floor pages

  • On-Call 24/7: interventional radiology, anesthesiology, OB/GYN, psychiatry, cardiology, nephrology, neurology, hematology/oncology, colorectal surgery
  • Limited 24/7 call coverage: vascular surgery, urology, ENT
  • Transfers out: inpatient pediatrics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, thoracic surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology
