Job Summary
Job Description
To prospective teammates,
I’m the medical director for Fairview Park Hospital, located in Dublin, Georgia. I have been a part of Sound Medical Group for five years, but I’ve worked at Fairview Park for almost ten years. I’m proud of the practice we have built and welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers coming out of training or desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options.
People
- We are a closely knit, established team of 14 physicians and 4 APPs, with the support of one clinical performance nurse.
- Our group is very diverse; many doctors come from various backgrounds and cultures.
- One of our hospitalists was formerly Chief of Staff and Chair of Medicine, and our former Hospitalist Director was promoted to CMO of the hospital.
- Several of our hospitalists own acreage in Dublin; one raises horses, and the other raises cattle. Two of our hospitalists live in Macon and make the 45-minute commute daily. Others live in Atlanta and have a second apartment in Dublin.
Practice
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU with a pulmonologist working in the ICU with us during the day, and they are on call at night. We run codes and rapids, but we don’t do procedures.
- Our hospitalists have daily interdisciplinary meetings with the pharmacy and case management, and we have monthly team meetings with all the hospitalists.
- Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out.
- Teammates benefit from Sound’s total rewards program, including yearly competitive compensation from $318,000 – $358,000 and financial, health, & well-being benefits.
- 2024 Beckers Hospital Review just awarded Fairview Park Hospital a 5-star rating from CMS.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound’s practices, where teammates can expand their careers locally and within the broader medical group.
- We are community-minded and urge team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to make our local community thrive.
