**Associate Program Medical Director opening in Englewood, OH** 15m from Dayton The Associate Program Medical Director (APMD) works closely with the Program Medical Director (PMD) and operational staff to enhance day-to-day clinical operations, achieve group quality metrics, coordinate continuing education opportunities, and orient new physicians. This role aims to improve the networks delivery of quality patient care and ensure legal compliance. **Position Details** - Clinical Management: Provide clinical management to a team of patients while assisting with administrative duties. - Leadership: Together with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), PMD, and program practice manager, oversee the performance and goals of the Hospitalist North team. - Reports directly to the PMD with a dotted line to the CMO. - Preferably Monday through Friday, but other full-time schedules that ensure successful administrative oversight are negotiable. - Clinical Duties (70%): Direct patient care as defined by the staff physician job description. Administrative Duties (30%): - Collaborate with the PMD to ensure quality patient care and efficient workflow. - Participate in interviews, hiring, and orientation of Hospitalist physicians and APPs. - Represent the hospitalist team on assigned hospital committees and initiatives. - Lead and facilitate day-to-day hospitalist operations and throughput, collaborating with Nursing and ED partners. - Coordinate quality metrics outcomes and reviews with the hospital quality team. - Address patient experience concerns. - Contribute to the development of practice procedures, standards, and strategies. - Balance physician and administrative duties. - Motivate staff, promote team building, and assume a leadership role within the clinical arena. - Maintain the highest level of confidentiality. - Serve as a role model for expected performance. - Provide regular feedback to team members, including annual performance reviews; manage clinical expectations such as LOS management, guideline usage, documentation practices, and communication habits. - Manage marginal or unsatisfactory performance. - Oversee orientation and training of new physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. - Manage relationships with key clinical and administrative stakeholders at the hospital. - Partner with the PMD to define and manage work allocation, workflow policies, and processes. - Define and manage service agreements and scope of practice in partnership with the PMD (e.g., direct admissions, perioperative and consultative care, ED consultations). - Handle service recovery, especially patient experience issues. - Collaborate with Nursing staff and operational teams. - Champion and support standardized Hospitalist Group processes, tools, and services. - Provide input to Hospitalist Group activities such as clinical audits, care delays, hospital outcomes, decision support, physician training, and physician job descriptions. **Position Requirements** - MD or DO degree - Current board certification in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice by respective allopathic or osteopathic boards - License to practice in the state of Ohio - Minimum 3 years clinical experience
