Local Team Collaboration:
- Join our 23 Sound-employed onsite physician advisors who collaborate with 39 onsite physician advisors employed directly by the hospitals we support as part of the nationwide Physician Advisory team.
- Our team is spread across several states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Kentucky, and West Virginia, working within partner hospitals to enhance services.
- We lead utilization management (UM) efforts, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), and regulatory compliance. Our role is to drive hospital performance improvement, such as length of stay, readmissions, and enhanced documentation.
Qualifications:
- Board certification is required.
- Experience in utilization management, compliance, or clinical documentation improvement preferred.
- Strong leadership, education, and collaboration skills.

- Our typical schedule runs Monday to Friday, with no evening calls or weekends, allowing for a work-life balance that benefits our team and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- ARH Harlan Hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center with 120 acute beds and 30 behavioral beds.
- As a Physician Advisor, you’ll lead efforts to improve regulatory compliance, documentation, and utilization of hospital resources.
- Collaborate closely with case management, clinical documentation improvement, and revenue cycle leadership teams to identify and address performance improvement opportunities.
- Provide one-on-one and group education to medical staff and support efforts to reduce payer denials.
- Offer timely and effective consultations to physicians, hospital staff, and coding specialists.
