Job Summary
Job Description
To our prospective teammates,
I’m the hospitalist medical director for Sound Physicians at Dignity St. Bernardine’s Medical Center in San Bernardino, California. I joined the hospitalist team in 2013 as a hospitalist before taking on the medical director role. We are a strong team of clinicians committed to providing quality patient care to the community. We are looking to grow our team, and I’d like to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options:
People
- Join our dynamic team of 20 hospitalists and two infectious disease clinicians who deliver high-quality healthcare in a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds.
- Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a smooth transition of care.
- H1B eligible; access to Sound’s in-house visa specialists as well as our licensing and credentialing experts; all required filing fees for the visa are paid and services covered
Practice
- We work in an open ICU environment, but no procedures are required. The Sound Critical Care team is the backup for procedures.
- We use Cerner EMR and have access to Sound’s internal informatics platform.
- Yearly compensation is $260,100- $302,400 base salary dependent on experience and shift.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
- Candidates must be board-certified or eligible in family medicine, with the expectation of obtaining certification. A family practice-trained clinician is needed to serve as a preceptor for the family medicine program, starting in July 2025.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- We value and support growth and development in our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team that supports involvement and contributions to community health and wellness in and out of the hospital.
