Job Title: Internal Medicine/Hospitalist Physician

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Internal Medicine/Hospitalist Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team in Pittsburgh, PA. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated physician to provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a hospital setting. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
  2. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including nurses, specialists, therapists, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  3. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, diagnostic test interpretation, and treatment planning, in accordance with established clinical guidelines and standards of care.
  4. Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including but not limited to cardiovascular diseases, respiratory disorders, diabetes, infectious diseases, and gastrointestinal disorders.
  5. Perform procedures commonly encountered in a hospitalist setting, such as central line placement, lumbar puncture, arterial line insertion, and thoracentesis, as needed.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear explanations of medical conditions, treatment options, and care plans, while demonstrating empathy, compassion, and respect.
  7. Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality metrics.
  8. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery, promote best practices, and achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
  • Eligibility for a J1 visa waiver.
  • Active medical licensure in the state of Pennsylvania or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Excellent clinical skills and diagnostic acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Hours

This is 7 on and 7 off with possibility of 10PM to 7 AM night coverage.
