Location: Savannah, GA
Duration: March 1, 2024 – and ongoing until permanent is hired.
Reason for coverage: Growth
Schedule: 7 on and 7 off
Shift: Day 7a-7p High risk admissions will all be seen by 5pm.
Call: After hours on the 7 days working, mostly phone consults or transfer them out if they’re too high risk. Critical care docs usually get called in, not the hospitalist.
Patient volume: AVG 35 – internal medicine provider. Avg daily census from 25-35. Rounding and consults.
Scope: Long term acute care hospital. Seeing every patient daily from vented ICU type patients to wound care and long term IV ABX. We do have consultants for pulmonary/critical care, infectious disease, nephrology, etc. Procedures not required, but it is a plus.
EMR: Chart Pad
Hospital: 50 private LTACH beds
Group/support: Pulmonary critical care doctors, nephrologist, infectious disease – internal medicine to go with pulmonary group with is usually one additional provider on staff.
Requirements (boards, license): Board Certified and licensed in GA including DEA
