Job Summary
Job Description
To prospective physicians,
I’m the medical director for Sound Physicians’ hospital medicine team at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho. I’ve had the privilege of being a part of Sound for nearly 13 years and am honored to live and practice in a state that ranks in the top 10 best places for physicians to practice in the U.S., according to WalletHub. We’re looking for physicians who recently completed training or are considering a career change to join our hospital medicine practice. I want to give you more insights into who we are and what we represent — our people, practice, and purpose.
People
- Our team is a closely connected group of eight physicians and two APPs.
- We take pride in our diverse team and have clinicians with varied geographic, educational, and training backgrounds. We strongly believe in mutual support and continuous learning from one another to enhance patient care.
- Collaboration and teamwork are the cornerstones of our practice. We work closely within our team and across different departments, ensuring robust relationships and a supportive working environment.
- Nampa, situated near Boise, offers an array of activities for recreation, including hiking, rafting, skiing, local breweries, diverse cuisine, and collegiate sports.
- The city boasts excellent schools and is a safe place to raise a family. It provides the best of both worlds — a balance between urban conveniences and a wholesome lifestyle. Earlier in 2023, Nampa was ranked No. 1 on the list of Best-Run Cities in America by WalletHub, with a thriving local economy and rapid growth.
- We are proud to support a diverse group of providers by sponsoring J1 visa candidates. Sound offers excellent in-house visa specialists, along with licensing and credentialing experts. All required filing fees for visas are covered by Sound.
Practice
- Our hospital recently underwent a multimillion-dollar expansion, resulting in a state-of-the-art facility.
- We manage an open ICU with 18 beds, collaborating on the care of critically ill patients. We’re seeking physicians with training in internal or family medicine, preferably with skills in arterial lines, central lines, and intubations, although it’s not mandatory. Vent management is required, and we provide mentoring for clinicians.
- We use the Cerner electronic medical record system and offer access to our internal informatics platform.
- Our competitive compensation package includes a $50,000 commencement bonus for full-time nocturnists who work 10-15 shifts per month, along with extra incentives based on quality and productivity.
- Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, a 401k plan with a match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and an annual CME allowance.
- We offer a Path to Partnership™ program for employed physicians, where partnership eligibility is evaluated in your second year with Sound, with the potential to double productivity bonuses.
Purpose
- Patient care is our top priority, and we’re committed to achieving positive patient outcomes through effective teamwork.
- We actively promote professional growth and development within our hospital medicine practice, enabling you to explore local and broader medical group opportunities. Our team members are encouraged to engage in committees where their passions lie, facilitating collaboration and change.
- Community involvement is integral to our team’s ethos, within and outside the hospital. We actively participate in various charity events alongside our Sound colleagues.
- Saint Alphonsus cares for an underserved population, including neighboring Oregon border towns. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and support to these communities.
