The University Medical Center in Metro TN is seeking a full-time physician to serve in a role that combines both program leadership and clinical practice for a growing hospital based palliative care program. The physician will be responsible for continued program development and oversight of clinical quality. The position will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide:

  • Palliative medicine consultation and patient management
  • Leadership to promote the clinical and education mission of the service
  • Education of hospital physicians, nurses, other staff and residents on palliative care
  • Training and supervision of palliative care advance practice nurses
  • Integration of palliative medicine into clinical care

Candidates must be board certified/board in a primary specialty (pediatrics, internal medicine/pediatrics, family medicine) with a certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or eligible and have excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills. Candidates who have completed a palliative medicine fellowship and have 3-5 years of experience working in a palliative care program are preferred.
