**Academic Palliative Care opening in Pennsylvania** Located in Altoona, PA - Pittsburgh 98m Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician with certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine to join our team as a Faculty Attending Physician. * Join a well-established single trainee fellowship program, an 8-8-8 rurally-oriented, full-spectrum, university-affiliated residency program. * Provide consultation and management services in inpatient, outpatient, and nursing home settings as part of a comprehensive palliative care team. * Work with a multidisciplinary team: 4 physicians, 4 Advanced Practice Providers, a fellow, social worker, pharmacist, and medical assistant. * Oversight of residents during their geriatric rotations and occasional precepting in family medicine office. * Opportunity for active involvement in the management of a variety of diagnoses and care acuities, as well as hands-on teaching of residents and fellows. **Responsibilities:** * Provide direct patient care in inpatient palliative consultations, outpatient clinic, and nursing home settings. * Participate in fellowship and residency training, including didactics and clinical supervision. * Assist with the supervision of residents during their palliative care rotations. * Contribute to the educational environment and continuous improvement of the fellowship program. * Participate in leadership activities, including working alongside the Program Director and Coordinator. **Qualifications:** * Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. * ABFM or AOBFP Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. * Academic medicine experience preferred, but not required. * Demonstrates strong communication skills, leadership, and a passion for teaching the next generation of palliative care physicians. **Program Highlights:** * The fellowship program boasts a 100% board exam pass rate due to strong hands-on training and structured didactics. * Integration with the family medicine residency and collaboration with sub-specialists * Full-spectrum palliative care training with exposure to a wide variety of patient cases and diagnoses. **About Altoona and Central PA:** * Located in Central Pennsylvania, approximately 2 hours from Pittsburgh and 3 hours from Baltimore/Washington. * Enjoy an affordable cost of living combined with the scenic beauty of rural areas and the amenities of a small metropolitan area. * The region offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities, cultural events, sports, and arts. * Diverse dining options, excellent schools, and a rich cultural life, as well as several nearby higher education institutions.
