Job Description
Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital is seeking a board certified pediatrician to join the Perinatal and Pediatric Palliative Care Team. This team provides comprehensive and coordinated palliative care services for children in a consultative model, in collaboration with specialty and community providers. We complete perinatal consultations in collaboration with the maternal fetal medicine physicians in the High Risk Pregnancy Center and follow patients through their young adult years while assisting with transition to adult medical care services. Consultations are completed in inpatient and outpatient setting with a rapidly growing outpatient service. We pride ourselves on true interdisciplinary collaboration and are thrilled to have a team that includes nurse coordinators, social work, and a child life specialist. We work closely with additional services including pediatric chaplains, unit child life and social work, music therapy, art therapy, and pediatric psychology to provide robust psychosocial support to our patients and families.
- Physician must be board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the care of children with medical complexity, symptom management, and end of life care is preferred
- Position provides inpatient and outpatient consultations
- Team consists of 4 pediatric RN coordinators, 1 pediatric social worker, 1 child life specialist, and 1 pediatric palliative care physician
- Level IV NICU with 61 beds
- Compensation is between $252,644 and $327,660 per year
- The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them

Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, a member of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions, includes more than 90 pediatric sub-specialists on the medical staff. The 18-bed emergency department is the only dedicated children’s emergency care and Level II Pediatric trauma center in the inland northwest region. With 37 general, 18 oncology and 20 intensive-care beds available for young patients, this tightly integrated team understands the special physical and emotional needs of children.
