At Providence Oregon Hospice, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, comprehensive hospice care to patients and families in the Portland metro area. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Hospice Physician to join our well-established interdisciplinary team. The Hospice Physician must be a strong leader, be comfortable with bedside care for highly symptomatic patients, and most importantly, support a culture of trust and collaboration amongst all hospice disciplines in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for all. Providence Hospice Oregon, the largest not-for-profit in Oregon, is part of a growing integrated Home and Community Services program which collaborates with Home Health, Palliative Medicine, Geriatrics as well as hospital-based practitioners to care for patients and their families.
- Full-time, 1.0 FTE
- Monday to Friday, daytime hours with approximately 1 weekday call night per week and 1 weekend per month
- Competitive salary, quality incentive, CME funds and hours, and relocation assistance available
- Outpatient, community-based setting with in-person patient care greatly encouraged both in the home and with hospital privileges for general inpatient care. May do virtual visits on occasion.
- Work as a member of a provider team consisting of HPM trained physicians and Nurse Practitioners and serve as a back-up to the Hospice Medical Director
- Provide primary oversight for one of five IDT’s in the Portland Metro area, including our service areas in the Gorge and Clark County, WA

- As a non-profit organization, Providence is an eligible employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program
Where You’ll Work
Providence Home Hospice has four service locations with an average daily census of 450 patients. As one of the first programs of its kind in the region and a community leader in health care, Home Hospice is connected to five Providence hospitals in the Portland metro area. Its providers, registered nurses, chaplains, social workers and other team members provide everything from pain control and comfort care to emotional, social and spiritual support for patients and their support networks.
