Job Opportunity: Locum Tenens Physician - Hematology and Oncology

Join a well-respected healthcare facility in Worcester, MA, offering quality medical services in a collaborative environment. Our Outpatient Oncology Department is in need of a Physician specialized in Hematology and Oncology to cover for departing providers. This position requires a commitment of at least six months, starting from June 9, 2025, and is ideal for candidates looking to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive medical care for patients in the outpatient oncology setting.
• Conduct patient consultations and follow-ups, averaging 15-18 patient encounters per day.
• Participate in both scheduled clinic hours and on-call duties via beeper.
• Perform admissions and ensure proper rounding on 5 patients per shift.
• Utilize the clinic's ONCO EMR and the hospital's Cerner EMR for patient documentation.
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing and support staff as required.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and adhere to hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Current Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology.
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Massachusetts.
• Strong clinical skills and a solid understanding of oncology treatments and procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Must have a clean record for credentialing purposes.
