Locum - Hematology/Oncology - MD/DO

Job Opportunity: Physician in Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology

Join a prestigious medical center located in Johnstown, PA, offering a modern facility that has recently relocated to enhance patient care. With a robust team and comprehensive services, including a nurse navigator program and multiple tumor boards, this practice is well-equipped to provide exceptional cancer care. The position is primarily outpatient with some inpatient responsibilities and offers a collaborative environment with dedicated staff, including RNs, APPs, and medical assistants.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide office hours Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM.
• Occasionally travel to an outlying office in Somerset for consultation.
• Conduct daily hospital rounds and consults during assigned weeks.
• Manage weekend rounds/consults (4 hours per day onsite).
• Oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
• Respond to after-hours calls concerning critical values or urgent patient matters.
• Focus on consultations with no hospital admissions required.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified/Eligible in Hematology/Oncology.
• Active Pennsylvania medical license.
• Completion of Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Recognition training.
• At least 4 hours of Pain Management and Opioid Prescribing Practice education.
• Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology preferred.
• Ability to work within a collaborative team environment.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active Pennsylvania medical license is required.
• Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology is required.
• Temporary privileges may be available.
