Locums - Joplin, Missouri, Hematology/Oncology Job Clinical Role:

• 5/1/25 – Ongoing Need
• 24 hr. on-call coverage for weekends 1-2 weekends per month
• Would like a provider who can give 4 weeks a month starting in May through August, then in September through September of 2026, 2 weeks only, would rotate with another provider, who is covering 3 weeks every month so the two weeks may fall at end and beginning of a month, etc.
• 2 Fulltime Physicians and 2 Fulltime APP that staff the clinic
• Duties: Primarily med onc and hem patients
• Procedures: Consults, follow-ups - possible bone marrow
• Call Type: beeper with some consultation
• Average patient census per clinic shift:15-23
• Night call patient census:1-2
• What does call look like in the week and weekend: Phone calls and sometimes need to round
• BMT or BMB to be performed by the locum: Yes, but can work around
• Hospitalist admits new patients
• 40% Hem/Onc - 60% Medical Onc
• Emergency privs will be offered for the open dates within 60 days
• Hospital and/ Clinic: Clinic (Hospital on-call weekend only some weekday evenings, call is very light)
• Facility in Joplin is home to the latest in cancer technology and treatments, including daVinci® robotic assisted surgery, Elekta Versa HD, the most advanced linear accelerator in the region offering IMRT stereotactic radiation treatment and 3D radiotherapy, PET/CT scans, prostate cancer treatment with Space OAR Hydrogel and the region’s only automated breast ultrasound (ABUS)
• Board Certified/Board Eligible Required
• Active MO License Required
• Fellowship Preferred
• ACLS, ATLS, BLS Required
• EMR: Epic
