Texas Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced physician with a proven clinical track record to serve The Vannie Cook Clinic in McAllen, TX as an attending Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist.
The mission of the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic is to provide treatment to children in South Texas who suffer from cancer and blood disorders regardless of their ability to pay. It is the region’s first state-of-the-art pediatric hematology/oncology clinic and the only comprehensive pediatric cancer treatment facility in South Texas. The Vannie E. Cook clinic is a Children’s Oncology Group member institution. Since 2001, more than 10,000 children with cancer or blood disorders have found the care they need right where they need it most, in their own backyard.

Job Responsibilities
Participate in the outpatient clinical service, including care for continuity patients.
Perform procedures (bone marrow aspirate/biopsy and lumbar puncture) on the procedure team.
Virtual access to all conferences in the division of pediatric hematology/oncology at the THC medical center campus site, including tumor boards, research conferences, and sub-specialty team meetings.
Direct access to national and international experts in both hematology and oncology.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Medical School Degree or equivalent.
Board Certified or Board Eligible for Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Texas medical license.
Preferred: Fluent in Spanish
