Locum-to-Perm - Des Moines, Iowa, Hematology/Oncology Job (IMLC Welcome) Clinical Role:

• Looking for multiple Locum-To-Perm Hem-Onc Physicians to fill their FULL TIME need
• Full Time coverage Monday-Friday each week
• The locum providers will be responsible for consults and any emergency issues that might arise
• Patient Contact Hours: 6
• Clinic days: 5
• Clinic Hours: 8-5
• Procedure/OR days: 0
• On Call: Dependent on Locums/Part Time Providers Number
• Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage for 2 OP at secondary clinics (no transplants), and 3 OP days per week at primary clinic. IP coverage of both sites; APP will cover for provider
• Outreach: Yes, coverage on secondary location at West Des Moines Cancer Center (IP and OP), 8 days per month
• Telehealth: Yes
• Number of Physicians: 3
• Number of advanced Practice Providers: 3
• Supervision of APP expected: Yes
• Supervisor name: Primary Locums Physician
• Nursing support/Physician Nurse Ratio: Non-nursing roles
• Ancillary Staff per provider: 0.5 (scheduler, biller, CNA)

• Services/Procedures offered in the practice: Patient assessments, new treatment plans, ongoing treatment plans, changes in therapy, referral for ancillary services, end of life care, chemotherapy management, pain management... (radiation and surgical oncology management provided by existing providers with strong relationships)
• Clinic Provider daily volume: 10-30
• Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: 10-15, Primary, 5-8, Secondary
• Appointment Length: 20 mins.
• Patient Demographics: Primary Clinic; Medicare/ Medicaid/Commercial; Secondary Clinical; Commercial, Medicare
• EMR: AllScripts- moving to Epic in late May 2025
• Teaching Opportunity: Informal
• Board Certified - Required (Board Certified in Medical Oncology is required. Board Certified in Hematology is preferred but not required)
• Fellowship trained in Medical Oncology/Hematology - Required
• IA License – Not Required! Open to new licensing and IMLC candidates!
