An opportunity exists for a full or part-time hematologist/oncologist at the Milo C. Huempfner Outpatient Clinic, located in Green Bay, WI. The Milo C. Huempfner Outpatient Clinic is a new 162,000 square foot VA primary care and multi-specialty clinic located in Green Bay. The Milo C. Huempfner VA Outpatient Clinic has a full scope hematology/clinic along with an outpatient chemotherapy/infusion center.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic.
-Obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients.
-Coordinate medical management and care with referring providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.

Basic Requirements:
-United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Working Hours

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Preferred Experience:
-2 years of hematology/oncology experience
-Board certified/eligible

Physical Requirements: Walking, bending, stooping, and some lifting in the direct care of patients. There may also be extended periods of sitting.
