We are seeking a board-certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to fill a long-term locum tenens position. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidates must be licensed in Florida.

  • Trauma Level: None.
  • Lodging provided (condo accommodation in most cases)
  • Credentialing timeframe: ~4 weeks.

Job Responsibilities

Provide hematology and oncology care to a diverse patient population.
Manage a daily patient volume of approximately 12 patients per shift.
Perform hospital rounds and outpatient consultations.
Collaborate with a team that includes one RN, one medical assistant, and two office staff members.
Participate in in-house call coverage, with a response time of 30 minutes for emergencies.
Utilize the Medhost EMR system for patient documentation.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Maintain timely communication with hospital administration and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree.
Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology is required.
Active Florida medical license.
Fellowship training in hematology/oncology is preferred.
Hospital privileges required (temporary privileges available).
Prior experience with Medhost EMR is a plus.
Familiarity with the Medhost EMR system is a plus.

Working Hours

Scheduled shifts: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on assigned dates.
Both inpatient and outpatient coverage required.
Call ratio: 2 with an average of 1 patient seen and 1 phone consult per 24 hours.
