Seeking a BC/BE Hematology/Oncology physician to join team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Overview:
Seeking an Associate Director of Cellular Therapy for a FACT-accredited Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program based in Winston-Salem, NC. The program includes autologous transplantation and CAR-T cell therapy, with expansions planned. This role involves collaboration across sites, although patient care and call coverage are specific to either the Winston-Salem or Charlotte location.
Program Highlights:
- 7 physician providers and 10 APPs across Winston-Salem and Charlotte.
- Independent site operations with planned 1:4 rounding and call schedule (APPs take 1st call).
- Strong pathology, blood bank, radiology, and specialist support.
- Robust clinical research program with significant infrastructure investment.
- New outpatient Cellular Therapy and Apheresis space, with 12 HEPA-filtered rooms for outpatient CAR-T therapy. Similar facility development is underway in Winston-Salem.
- Dedicated Phase 1 clinical trial units at both locations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee stem cell transplant and CAR-T/TIL therapy for adult patients at the Cancer Institute.
- Coordinate with system-wide director on treatment protocols and trial opportunities within the Health system.
- Manage patients with multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and acute leukemia; encouraged development of subspecialty interest.
Qualifications:
- Experience in hematopoietic cell transplantation and CAR-T cell therapy preferred.
- 3+ years post-fellowship experience preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong focus on patient care and translational research.
