The UCHealth Cancer Care team in Colorado Springs, CO is looking for a Perm Hematology/Oncology Physician to join their group!
Job Description:
- The UCHealth Cancer Care team, which includes hematology/oncology physicians, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, interventional radiology and a comprehensive supportive care team for patients, is ready to welcome a new dual board certified hematologist/oncologist to our team in growing Colorado Springs, Colorado. In your practice, you will provide general care to a wide variety of patients.
- Coverage of two Memorial Hospitals in Colorado Springs within a 12 mile radius: Memorial Hospital North and Memorial Hospital Central (*Will likely be at Memorial Hospital Central but it depends on which clinic has space at time of hire).
- By joining the UCHealth Cancer Care team, you will be part of a collaborative, enthusiastic, experienced, and innovative team. We have comprehensive hematology/oncology care services for our patients, including nurse navigators, social workers, genetics, nutrition, surgical oncology, oncology rehab, support classes including yoga and cooking classes.
- We offer the latest in clinical trials, along with an active tumor board schedule, and truly believe that our clinical research shapes the future of cancer care. You also will have the ability to collaborate with colleagues at Colorado’s only NCI designated Cancer Center at the CU Cancer Center in Aurora.

- Participation in high-level tumor boards within a Level 1 trauma center.
- Unique outpatient Hematology/Oncology opportunity with work/life integration.
- Memorial Hospital North has 124 beds; Memorial Hospital Central has 368 beds.
- Number of patients seen per day: 18-20, time at the discretion of the provider (new patient vs. follow-up)
- Age groups treated: adult and geriatric (no pediatric)
- Primarily seeing outpatient
- Call schedule of 1:9 with minimal clinic duties during your call week. Weekends only while on call. 7 straight days of call (Friday morning to Friday morning) with travel between Memorial Hospital North and Memorial Hospital Central (20 minutes apart). There is a Hem/Onc Hospitalist to assist the 9 with call (and hope to hire more).
- Physicians have the ability to subspecialize
- Access to University of Colorado School of Medicine Tumor Board, clinical trials, research, etc. Teaching medical students is an option, but not required.
- GynOnc and RadOnc both on site at both hospitals/cancer centers
- Great referral network within UCHealth
- Cannot accept any type of visa candidates
- Must be interested in Permanent placement (not accepting Locums)
- Open to fellows who will be graduating in 2024
- EMR: EPIC
- Credentialing timeline: approximately 90 days
