  • Clinical Role:

    • PART-TIME 48 hours per pay period (clinic 8:30 am-4:30 pm + admin time if needed)
    • Experience practicing Radiation Oncology with a strong record (or an excellent recent graduate)
    • Demonstrated practice-building experience is preferred
    • Possible leadership opportunity and the ability to build the practice
    • Functions as a member of the clinical patient care team performing tasks and procedures consistent with the training and licensure of a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist
    • Practice Setting: Outpatient at Free-Standing Cancer Center
    • Reason for coverage: Physician retirement/relocations
    • Most benign Hematology is referred out as we are focusing on getting new solid tumor diagnosis seen timely (within 1 week of referral)
    • Demographics for this area are roughly 20% Hematology, 80% Oncology
    • Number of Physicians in Practice: 3 currently
    • Radiation Oncologists Present
    • APPs Provide Coverage: 2 currently
    • Average Number of Patients Per Day - OUTPATIENT (Clinic/Office): 10-15
    • Average Number of Patients Per Day - HOSPITAL (Call/Rounding): Only when patients are admitted for inpatient chemo
    • Trauma Level III
    • Required Duties: participation on a Tumor Board, orders tests, orders images, prescribes
    • Administration of Chemotherapy: by Physician
    • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
    • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
    • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
    • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
    • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
    • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision
    • Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects
    • Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair
    • Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
    • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
