The Hematology, Oncology locum tenens opportunity in Louisiana…

-Location: Louisiana (central)

-Duration: September 2024 – March 2025 (potential for extension)

-Schedule: 4-5 days per week, full-time

-Shift: Monday – Thursday 8a-5p, Friday 8a-12p clinic and 12p-4:30p consults

-Call: TBD

-Patients: 60% hematology, 40% oncology

-Hematology scope: Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients with diseases and disorders of the blood, blood forming tissues, and the immunologic system such as anemia, clotting disorders, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

-Oncology scope: admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultations to patients with oncologic disorders.

-Procedures: Bone marrow biopsy, administration of chemotherapy, lymph node aspiration, therapeutic phlebotomy: blood tests, management/maintenance of indwelling venous catheters

-EMR: Onco 260 and Meditech

-Group: 3 other hem/onc, MA in clinic, nurse navigator, radiology, lab, pharmacy

-Hospital: 293 beds, 26 ICU beds

-Requirements: Board certified (or board eligible if recently trained) with a Louisiana or compact license
