Hematology/Oncology opening in Brunswick County, NC
Full-Time & Permanent Position
Seeking a BE/BC Hematologist/Oncologist to join group.
- Predominantly outpatient, hospital-based practice in Wilmington, North Carolina
- We treat our patients in NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art regional cancer center located in Wilmington as well as in our community-based, QOPI certified office in neighboring Brunswick County.
- The cancer center provides highly disease specialized multidisciplinary cancer care in collaboration with radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology, advanced radiology and pathology.
- This collaboration allows the medical hematology and oncology team to provide the highest level of care to all patients.
- Tumor board collaboration, multidisciplinary clinics, and advanced hospice and palliative care opportunities allow many opportunities for clinicians to function at a high level of involvement and job satisfaction.
- Many of our faculty take advantage of our relationship with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and become UNC clinical professors as we are a main campus for UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine clinical clerkship years (3rd and 4th year) and have multiple residencies.
- In addition, we have a dynamic and growing research portfolio, taking advantage of our large Novant systems strengths in clinical research as well as our UNC partnership to bring novel studies to our patients in the communities we serve.
- We are currently a team of 11 medical oncologists and 8 advanced practice providers with plans to add at least two more physicians within the next 12 to 18 months.
- Our growing community size and expanding specialty offerings dictate the immediate need for additional Hematology-Oncology services in our area.
- Call is 1 in 11 and evenly distributed.
- We have a robust hospitalist service managing admissions.
- We believe in disease site specialization and the majority of our physicians focus their clinical practices around only 1 or 2 primary disease sites.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology
- New graduates or experienced candidates will be considered. We particularly encourage medical oncologists with a history or interest in practice leadership to consider applying.
- Two-year salary guarantee with the ability to transition to a productivity-based model as soon as advantageous to the physician
- Relocation allowance
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance
