Oncology opportunity in a 295 bed non-profit hospital in Louisiana. Join 3 other Oncologists with a medical office next to the hospital. there are 8 exam rooms and 16 infusion chairs with a dedicated team of infusion nurses. You will be replacing a retiring Oncologist. The practice is a general, bread and butter position that will be primarily outpatient (80%). The specialty focus will be about 70% oncology and 30% hematology.
Salary up to $575,000. wRVU with monthly threshold of 4000-5200. Sign on bonus offered (negoitable), relocation, CME time and $$$ as well full benefits for physician and dependents.. Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm Friday 8am-12pm. Support staff: There are 3 Nurse Practitioners - they are first call and work up any ED and hospital admissions. A physician will also have a nurse, as well.. Patient volume: Typical outpatient volumes per provider range from 17 to 20 per day; Normally will staff for 2-3 New Patients per day, and rest is Follow Up ( average 20 F/U visits per clinic day ). On-call: Physicians take call 1:3, back-up to NPs, mostly for oncology. Hospitalists typically admit and bed the patient and oversee until the next day when they call for a consult. We can expect 2-3 consults per day. New Consults are seen by NP/PA. A physician almost never has to come in during evening hours.. Electronic Medical Records: ONCO ( Epic in 2025 ).
