Hematology/Oncology Opening - Mason City, Iowa ~ J1, H1b Eligible *150K commencement bonus* Position Details

  • Full-time, permanent
  • Practice Setting: primarily outpatient, very minimal inpatient
  • Monday-Friday (9 hour days)
  • Adult & Geriatric patients
  • 50% Hem / 50% Onc
  • 2 Radiation Oncologists in practice
  • 4 APPs in practice
  • 12-16 patients per day
  • Required procedures: Management of VAD/CV Catheters & Intrathecal chemo
  • Required duties: participation on a Tumor Board, order tests, order images, prescribes
  • Nurse administers chemo according to the orders from the physician
  • Excellent work life balance supporting quality family time with 5-6 call days per month, one holiday per year, at home call available, and post call day off.
  • Physician support before, during, and after each procedure
  • All surgical procedures avaialble, except transplants; limited pediatrics; support OB, Cath Lab, and ED.
  • Opportunity to teach CRNA students
About the Cancer Center Busy outpatient practice with instant volume Beautiful, patient-friendly, comprehensive Cancer Center Join a team of 4 Hematology Oncologists, 2 Radiation Oncologists, and 4 Advanced Practice Providers $10 million expansion/renovation completed in 2021 24 infusion chairs and 20 exam rooms Reasonable patient load to help support an excellent work-life balance Survivorship and genetics programs available in the center Minimal call- phone only (1:4) 24/7 Hospitalist team that handles most calls and inpatient responsibilities Weekly tumor boards with on-site specialists, including Pathology, Radiology, General Surgery, Urology, GI, etc. Support staff includes a dietitian, physical therapist, dosimetrists, physicists, clinical pharmacist, financial counselor, social workers, tumor registrars, etc. Compensation and Benefits: $454,329 (50th percentile) Up to 150K sign on bonus 34 days off annually Premium paid health insurance Short- term and long-term disability Professional liability 4K for CME 34 days of time off, annually Employer sponsored professional liability insurance & tail insurance coverage Health, dental, vision and life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage 403(b) retirement program with employer contribution and employer matching; Optional 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan Cost of Living for area is 24% lower than national average About the Group 346 Bed Conducts a Family Medicine Residency, Internal Medicine Residency, Cardiology Fellowship, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and a School of Radiologic Technology. Clinical training site for approximately 500 students from 127 different colleges enrolled in programs for medical laboratory, nursing, paramedic, rehabilitation, medical assistants, pastoral services, physicians and many other medical fields.
