ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Cancer Care, with locations across eastern North Carolina, are seeking a board certified or board eligible fellowship trained Hematology Oncologist to join their growing Hematology Oncology program. Applicants should have an interest in both academic and community based oncology practice. New graduates and Visas are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will have the ability to have a sub-specialty clinical focus at ECU Health Cancer Care’s location in Greenville, North Carolina. Additionally, community based oncology care will be provided at regional cancer clinics within the ECU Health network of care.

ECU Health Cancer Care is eastern North Carolina’s leader in comprehensive oncology care with locations across a 29-county service area.

Highlights include:

  • Employment by ECU Health Physicians
  • Close collaboration with the ECU Health Hematology Oncology team and direct patient care for ECU Health Cancer Care locations throughout the eastern North Carolina region
  • Hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center, a level 1 trauma, 974 bed Academic Medical Center and ECU Health Regional hospitals
  • Monday-Friday 8am-5pm schedule
  • Shared call
  • Inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities including: developing treatment plans for new diagnosis in hematology oncology patients, chemotherapy oversight, supervising advance practice provider on follow up patients and participating in tumor board
  • Participation in a 9 -hospital system of cancer care with 5 COC accredited sites sharing a common medical record and planned COC Network status in 2020
  • Close collaboration with the ECU Health Cancer Care team which includes a multidisciplinary team of specialists including radiation oncologists, hematology oncologists, surgical oncologists, gynecologic oncologist, neurological oncologist, hematology oncology fellows, and patient navigators
  • State-of-the-art equipment including a Gamma Knife, a Cyber Knife, Trubeam Linear Accelerators, 3D Mammography, 3 MT MRI, Ultrasound and a full spectrum of radiology services
  • Established clinical trials program through ECU Health and ECU School of Medicine; Members Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology
