Hematology/Oncology opening: Conway, SC Located 10 miles to Myrtle Beach Position Details

  • Recruiting another Hem/Onc due to patient need and expansion. They currently have 2 oncologists and are looking for a 3rd and ultimately a 4th. The goal is to have 4 full time providers in the group.
  • Candidate Parameters: Fellowship trained and board certified/eligible in hematology/oncology.
  • Tumor Boards 2x monthly (breast and Pulm) and (GI and ENT)
Typical Schedule: Full time position - Monday thru Friday 36 Patient Contact Hours - 4 Admin Hours/week 1 Hour - New Patient Visits; 30/45 Minutes Follow Up 1:3 Call - Consult Only Service - No Admissions (Goal is to be 1:4 ultimately) Rounding the physicians typically have 1-week blocks (3 -5 consults a week) in the hospital. Consults and rounding a done by the physician on call. Scope of Practice 40% Hematology and 60% Oncology 14 +/- Patients per day seen in the clinic Each physician has their own designated RN for support NP dedicated for infusion services Cancer Center: Built in 2021 Hem/Onc Clinic and Infusion Center Patient Navigator - Hired in 2021 Palliative Services on campus/in house Duke Tumor Board Participation Duke has a fast-track process for the patients that allow them to be seen/treated at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) Clinical Trials are Coming - 15-28 month once accredited; Yes, we are working towards becoming CoC accredited. We are very early in the process. I think the goal would be for us to do clinical trials on site Comp/Benefits: Salary will be at the MGMA median in market 325,000 person population 5 days of CME at $3000 Student loan repayment Relocation assistance offered Other Information: Medical center was established in 1923 Independent, non-profit facility Medical center leadership has history of long tenure 210 bed facility 60+ providers on staff Brand new Pharmacy on medical center campus 21 offices throughout service area - 9 are primary care (soon to be 11) Medical center is the 2nd fastest growing MSA over last 3 years New Family medicine residency program with Campbell University - will be implemented in July 2020 In one of the top 10 fastest growing markets in the US Top tier public school system
