Position Overview:
An integrated, not-for-profit health system in western Massachusetts, is seeking a board-certified Medical Geneticist to lead its well-established Division of Medical Genetics within the Department of Pediatrics.
Position Highlights:
Provide clinical and academic leadership for a team including 1 physician, 1 APP, 5 genetic counselors, a care coordinator, and medical assistant
Oversee a comprehensive genetics program serving pediatric and adult patients
Key service areas include pediatric genetics, reproductive genetics, cancer genetics, adult genetics, and a nationally recognized lysosomal storage disorders program
Direct operations for both inpatient consults and ambulatory care at a dedicated Children s Specialty Center
0.3 FTE administrative time allotted
Support faculty development and contribute to department and system-wide strategic initiatives
Faculty appointment with UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate (Associate Professor rank or higher preferred)
Engage in resident education, mentoring, and medical student teaching
Qualifications:
ABMS board certification in Medical Genetics
Minimum 4 years of post-training experience
Leadership interest or experience
Strong communication skills and collaborative approach
Commitment to education and mentoring
