CAMC is actively seeking an advanced Gastroenterology to join our dynamic team!
Charleston Area Medical Center is a tertiary care, teaching institution with multiple educational affiliations, including West Virginia University and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. The talented Gastroenterology division comprises a dedicated clinical staff that is a caring team of specialized doctors, nurses, technicians and other ancillary personnel who are committed to improving the health and well-being of patients with a variety of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. As a regional referral center, we offer expertise in all areas of clinical GI and advanced endoscopy. In addition to addressing specific medical needs, we promote health through preventive care, cancer screening, and by providing education, allowing the patient to better understand their disease process.
Our division also boasts several active clinical research projects and has been presenting our research at various regional, national, and international meetings. We have been actively expanding our division with the addition of new faculty members who perform cutting-edge procedures and services for our patients. Our faculty are highly skilled clinicians, translational investigators, and educators with expertise in virtually every area of the digestive system. All are dedicated to their patients and to advancing knowledge in the field.

Located in the beautiful capital city of West Virginia, the Heart and Vascular Center at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is one of the largest and most comprehensive heart programs in the region, offering a full spectrum of cardiac and vascular services. This center is known for its exceptional care and advanced technology, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of heart and vascular conditions.
Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) was established in 1972 and is a nonprofit, 1,138-bed regional tertiary referral center made up of seven hospitals: General Hospital, Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Memorial Hospital, Plateau Medical Center, Teays Valley Hospital, Women's and Children’s Hospital, and Charleston Surgical Hospital. In addition to the hospitals, CAMC comprises the Institute for Academic Medicine and the CAMC Foundation. More than 1,500 providers are members of the medical staff of CAMC, which is also West Virginia's premiere medical teaching facility, hosting, on any given day, more than 1,000 students in programs leading to degrees or certifications in health professions.
CAMC also has a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, PICU, the only Kidney Transplant Center in Southern WV, one of the highest volume heart programs in the US, and the largest Cancer Center in West Virginia accredited by QOPI and the Commission on Cancer.

Job Responsibilities
Diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders
Performing endoscopic procedures and other diagnostic tests
Developing treatment plans and managing chronic conditions
Educating patients about digestive health and preventive care
Collaborating with other specialists and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD/DO) with the ability to obtain a West Virginia state medical license and DEA
Board-eligible or board-certified in gastroenterology
Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Charleston Area Medical Center
Demonstrated commitment to medical education as an attending or resident/fellow.
