We are seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our team in Illinois. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, performing a range of GI procedures in our GI lab and seeing patients in our clinic. This role is primarily focused on colonoscopies, EGDs, and in-house consults for stable GI issues. The candidate should be comfortable handling scopes for bleeds, treating esophageal bleeders, and performing ERCPs.
Perform procedures in the GI lab (4 days per week) and see patients in the clinic (1 day per week).
Conduct inpatient rounding as needed.
Manage an estimated 12-13 procedures per lab day and 20 patients per clinic day.
Provide overnight weekday call coverage.
Handle EGDs, routine colonoscopies, and emergency GI procedures.
Work closely with a full-time APP in the GI clinic.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
Active Illinois State License (or ability to obtain one).
ACLS, BLS, and CSR License required.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Gastroenterology.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8-9 hours per day.
Call duties: Overnight weekday call while on-site.
Estimated 7 shifts per month.
Expected 4 inpatient admissions while on call.

Skills

Proficiency in GI procedures (Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, treating esophageal bleeds).
Ability to manage both inpatient and outpatient cases.
Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
Experience with EPIC EMR/Charting.
