Locums - Gastroenterology - Marshfield, Wisconsin Coverage Need

  • Assignment Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
  • 1-2 wks/mo w/1-2 weeknights of Call

Position Details Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Practice Settings: Inpatient, Outpatient Admissions required: Yes Call Details: - Call Type: Beeper - Call Response Time Required: 15 minutes - Call Ratio: 1:3 Typical Schedule: Outpatient procedures (colonoscopies, EGDs) Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM Procedures per day: 13-14 Support Staff: GI Techs, RNs, 3 RNs, 4 MAs, 8 PAs/NPs, 6 office staff Conscious sedation required (no Anesthesia support in GI unit) Submission Requirements No state licensure restriction, IMLC accepted Board Eligible Clean history ACLS, BLS Skill Requirements Specialty Skills: - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices: Required - Esophageal dilatation/manometry and manometry interpretation: Required - Small bowel biopsy: Required - Lower GI endoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision: Required Additional Details In need of 1-2 weeks of locum coverage per month. Locum will be doing outpatient procedures (colonoscopies, EGDs) Mon.-Fri., 8am-5pm with 1-2 weeknights of call. Potential for occasional weekend call coverage, but will typically just be weeknights. Locum can expect to perform 13-14 outpatient procedures per day. Locum must be able to administer conscious sedation, as there is no Anesthesia support in the GI unit. GI Techs and RNs support the physicians during procedures.
