Facility in Longmont, CO seeking GI locums coverage

Rates: $4700/24 hours

Schedule & Coverage:

  • Shifts: 14 (24-hour) shifts per month

  • Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off (two physicians alternating weeks for full-time coverage)

  • Hospital rounding & GI procedures (urgent & routine cases)

  • Average routine cases: 12 per week / 24 per month

  • Call: 12-hour hospital shift + 12 hours of call (on-call for urgent cases)

  • Call Back Frequency:

    • Weekdays: 10%

    • Weekends: 10%

    • ICU: 10%

    • ER: 0%

Practice Details:

  • Setting: Hospital-based (no clinic work)

  • Patient Mix: 100% Adult, Pediatric, Neonate, and Hospital-based Gastroenterology

  • Avg. hospital patients per physician/day: 0-5 (including ICU)

  • Lab & X-ray onsite

  • Supervision Required: No

  • Additional Gastroenterologists Onsite: Yes

Required Procedures:

  • Upper GI Endoscopy:

    • Biopsy

    • Foreign body removal

    • Bleeder fulguration (cautery vs. laser)

    • Variceal injection & banding

    • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)

  • Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry

  • Small Bowel Biopsy

  • Lower GI Endoscopy:

    • Flexible & rigid sigmoidoscopy

    • Colonoscopy (with biopsy & polyp excision)

  • Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube

Preferred Procedures (Not Required):

  • Upper GI Endoscopy with ERCP (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)

Requirements:

  • Board Certification: Gastroenterology (REQUIRED)

  • BLS & ACLS Certification (REQUIRED)

  • CO Medical License or IMLC (REQUIRED)
