Role: Locum Gastroenterologist (MD/DO)
Location: Rockport, Maine
Job Type: Locum
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour day with 30-minute lunch break (standard workday)
Dates: Ongoing shifts available (details can be discussed upon inquiry)
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, treat, and manage gastrointestinal conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, GERD, and liver diseases
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, and other endoscopic services
Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including consultations, follow-ups, and management of GI conditions
Collaborate with medical team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
Work in an outpatient setting, with some inpatient consultation as required
Document patient information accurately and timely
Qualifications:
MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Gastroenterology
Active Maine medical license (or ability to obtain)
ACLS/BLS certifications
Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload of patients
Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and teamwork
