A well-established physician-owned and led multi-specialty group in the Piedmont Triad of NC is looking for an additional Gastroenterologist They are looking for a gastroenterologist recently trained or just completing a fellowship to join a highly regarded group of 6 gastroenterologists. As part of the largest physician-owned group in the area, the providers enjoy a broad primary care referral base enabling physicians to focus exclusively on consultative and procedural gastroenterology. Enjoy referral relationships within a highly collegial medical community, professional stability, and good profitability. Outpatient procedures are done predominantly at the Endoscopy Center, an accredited facility with 4 first-class procedure rooms and an outstanding support staff, located in the same building as the gastroenterology office. From ERBE coagulators to Olympus 190-series scopes, the top-of-the-line equipment allow for the best patient care possible. Inpatient consults and procedures on hospitalized patients are done at the 500-bed Moses Cone Hospital, located across the street from the office, and at the 150-bed Wesley Long Hospital is approximately 5 minutes away. The Moses Cone Health System operates both hospitals and is a community-based, non-profit, fiscally sound, forward-thinking organization. Most of the time physicians cover Wesley Long Hospital, which is a smaller community hospital. Cone Health’s residency programs in IM and FP are affiliated with the UNC School of Medicine. The ideal candidate for this position will be a “people person” and advanced endoscopic skills are not needed for this general GI opening. Their expectations also include excellent communication skills, good teamwork with staff and colleagues, a solid work ethic, and a strong service orientation toward patients and referring physicians. Physician time is spent 30% in the clinic and 70% in the endoscopy center and have ½ a day each week for administration time to catch up with documentation. Compensation includes guaranteed salary during the non-shareholder period of employment, plus a productivity bonus opportunity during the non-shareholder period of employment. Office shareholder option is available after one fiscal year and Board Certification is required to be completed. There is a three-year partnership track in the Endoscopy Center at no cost to the physician. The shareholder income distribution formula is almost entirely productivity based. GI call will be 1:7 rotation.
