• 24-hour call shift

Job Description :

• This is a GI Hospitalist request
• Coverage Need: 1-2 WEEKS PER MONTH.
• GI will have an average of 5-8 procedures each day.
• This number includes up to 5 elective, outpatient procedures that require Anesthesia (Mac) support (not IVCS).
• Average new inpatient consults per day: 3-6.
  • NOTE: 8 gratis hours in the 24-hour shift.
• Strongly prefer candidates who perform ERCP!

• Anesthesia availability: Anesthesia is readily available during the day shift.
• On weekends, usually two anesthesia teams are available in the morning and add-on GI are in the queue with all other surgical add-ons.
• If a gastroenterologist requires IV conscious sedation for a procedure, that is available as well.

• Physician is responsible for communicating biopsy results for all procedures to the patient directly – or routed through the designated clinic MA.
• Must coordinate additional steps to include referrals, follow-ups and additional imaging as may be necessary. EPIC training will be required.
