Coverage Needed
- April 7, 2025 - October 11, 2025
- Cover 3 locations: The hospital, the current outpatient center and starting in Jan/Feb. 2025 there will be a new endoscopy center
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
- Call: Every 3rd week and will include weekend; runs from Friday 5P to Friday 5P
Clinical Details
- Inpatient: average of 12-15 per day
- Outpatient: average 8-10 in a half day or roughly 15 in a full day
- New patients usually are 1 hour visits; established patients take 30 minutes typically
- 1st facility: Average of 12-15 cases per day, 3-5 days are spent in the lab, Equipment is Olympus & Provation
- 2nd facility: 10-12 cases/day, 3-5 days spent here, Equipment is Olympus & Provation
- The hospitalist service will typically admit patients and the GI acts as a consultant
- Use propofol for sedation and have an anesthesiologist on site with a CRNA in each procedure room
Requirements
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (BE is within 2 years of residency)
- Active PA License or IMLC
- Must be 100% comfortable with scoping (endoscopy/colonoscopy – all scopes are done in hospital)
- Must be comfortable and willing to do both inpatient and outpatient
- Work longer blocks of dates (at least 5-7 days) - Preferred
- ERCP/EUS - Preferred
Call
- 1:3
- Call is shared with 2 other GI groups in the community
Support Staff
- 2 physicians, 2 PA’s and 1 NP, 5 LPN/MA’s, 1 Registrar, 1 RN Coordinator
- The APPs cover the outpatient clinic mostly
