Veterans Health Administration is currently on the search for a Gastroenterologist to join a busy established practice in the heart of Cincinnati, Ohio. Gastroenterologist's primary role is to provide clinical care in Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and to oversee the educations of Residents, Fellows, and Medical Students within his/her practice area. Job Responsibilities

Specifics about the job:
• Provides guidance and support to the nurse practitioners and supervision to medical students and residents
• Revises work schedules and assignments to meet frequent, abrupt, and unpredictable changes in prescribed workloads and deadlines to meet patient care, healthcare, agency needs.
• Provides quality patient-centered patient care to both inpatients and outpatients for adults age 18-65 and older adults age 65+ as assigned by Chief, Medical Service.
• Demonstrate sound decision-making skills, both clinical and administrative
• Facilitate the delivery of appropriate patient care in collaboration with other health professionals, medical center staff, and management.
• Systematically evaluates patient care programs in all Medicine venues.
• Completes all medical record documentation, encounters, and trainee supervision attestations in the electronic medical record within prescribed timeframes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
• Board certified/eligible
• Fellowship trained and interested in performing GI procedures
• Interest in working with residents/students
