Gastroenterology Needed – in Toms River, NJ
Start Date/length of assignment: Jan 1, 2025- June 30, 2025
Schedule: Right now we are looking at 7 days on, with 8-4 for those 7 days and then 24 hours call that week. Then off for 4 to 5 wks and then on for 7 days again. Right now we are not looking for outpatient work but that may change depending on what one of our community GIs does.
On call: Yes.
Cases: Perform investigative endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopes, gastroscopies, and barium swallows.

Details:
Diagnose and treat GI disorders, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive issues.
• Provide advice and support on diet and nutrition changes to patients and refer them to relevant dietitians as required.
• Perform investigative endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopes, gastroscopies, and barium swallows.
• Consult with and assist members of the medical staff and nursing staff when such consultation is required and requested by an attending physician.
• Treat patients consistent with any rules and regulations required by the Employer dealing with the general treatment of patients.
• Provide Gastroenterology On-Call coverage for Emergency Department according to an
• on- call schedule established in accordance with Community Medical Center’s policy and procedures including the Medical Staff Departmental Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in coverage that is scheduled in 24 hour blocks of time (to include approximately 2 hours of onsite rounding; remaining 22 hours are unrestricted call).
• Provide on-call coverage that meets the requirements of the Emergency Department policies and procedures including response time.
