A highly regarded health system in Yakima, Washington, seeks a board-certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This role is based within a well-established clinic that provides high-quality gastrointestinal care and advanced procedures for complex liver and GI cases. Assignment Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Coverage Needs: Ongoing with flexible clinic and procedure shifts available
- Schedule: 14-16 patients per day in a combined outpatient and inpatient clinic setting
Compensation and Travel
- Hourly Rate: $250 - $325 per hour
- Lodging: Up to $150 per night
- Airfare: Roundtrip airfare covered up to $600, with one checked bag fee
- Rental Car or Mileage Reimbursement: Provided based on assignment details

Job Responsibilities
Conduct in-clinic procedures, including PillCam interpretation, PEG tube exchanges, Hemoccult tests, and Lidocaine injections.
Provide thorough pathology reviews, manage referrals, and support clinical questions from the clinic’s PA-C.
Option to perform endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures (under conscious sedation) at the nearby MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Document all interactions and procedures accurately within the Epic EMR system.
Qualifications
Active Washington medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
Skilled in a range of GI procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Proficiency with Epic or similar EMR systems.
Collaborative skills for working effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
