Gastroenterology opening in New York - Located in Hamilton, NY - Syracuse 40m - Full-time, permanent position - Board Certified Gastroenterologist needed This position will be a collaborative agreement with private practice at regional tertiary facility as well as providing services as independent/flexible rate at community hospital. The goal would be to have one MD doing procedures each day, Monday-Friday. Call: As the practice continues to grow and additional providers are added, hospital and physicians will sit together to determine future call requirements so as to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations governing availability to patients during daytime office hours as well as after hours and weekends. Provider will benefit from a group of gastroenterologists to reduce call and enjoy independent practice in a community hospital. Employment Contract: One year contract with automatic renewal clause Physician Engagement: Gastroenterologists are expected to attend medical staff department meetings, serve on medical staff committees as requested, and actively participate in relationship building activities with referral sources, including primary care physicians and the community (i.e. schools, business, etc.). The organization's marketing and its business development staff will assist in this endeavor. Competencies: Gastroenterologists should be competent and interested in providing services in this subspecialty, including esophagoscopy, esophageal sclerotherapy and band ligation for varices, esophageal manometry, foreign body removal, gastroscopy, duodenoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, liver biopsy, and PEG insertion/removal. ERCP and ERCP with sphincterotomy preferred but not required
