Hospital is looking for a gastroenterologist
Details:
- Monday-Thursday - Clinic coverage - 8a-4:30p
- 20-25 days per month of outpatient clinic coverage needed.
- Setting: Outpatient, Clinic
- Duties: ERCP, EGD, EVS
- Required Procedures: ERCP
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: MA, RN, Echo Tech, Lab Tech, Nuclear Tech, X-ray Tech
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Board Certified Gastroenterology – REQUIRED
- Active UT license – REQUIRED or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission)
- Active BLS - Required for credentialing.
- Gastro Fellowship - REQUIRED
- Active DEA - Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked.)
- Candidate must be able to perform ERCP - Required to note
- Must disclose what date provider can start - REQUIRED
- Must disclose # of shifts per month provider can offer to the site - REQUIRED
- Must acknowledge candidate understands the EMR training requirements set forth in job description and will complete in this order to avoid missing their start date - REQUIRED
- Clean Malpractice/Background - Required & Must include Self inquiry NPDB report
EMR Required Training:
- Module (learn lessons) – Must be completed prior to virtual EMR training to attend the training.
- EMR Virtual training & Onsite training – Only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Virtual EMR training is scheduled before the provider's first day. If onsite training is required, it is typically looped into the morning of their first day.
Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:
- Can you confirm if during the clinic the provider will be covering OP procedures? Blocked OR time M, W, Th 0730- 12 then is in clinic for OP consults/ follow up appts.
- We also have never seen ERCP requirements on an outpatient job. Typically done in the OR at the hospital (see them on inpatient coverage roles. How will an OP provider do these? If they truly require, how many of these does the doctor do each month? Done during OR time. Only a few of these are done per month - ERCP is no longer a requirement but a preference.
- Is there anesthesia support? Yes- in the OR and outpatient endoscopy suites.
- Is this an outpatient endoscopy suite procedure position or an outpatient clinic position? It is both actually. Morning in the endoscopy suite and afternoon in the clinic.
- What is the average number of procedures performed per day for the clinic? 8-10 scheduled procedures per clinic day.
- What are the hours for the procedures and hours for clinic per day? 8a-12p (Procedures) & 12:30p-4:30p (Clinic)
- How much time do they get for a lunch break? Provider preference 30 or 60 mins
- What type of reporting do they use? Provation
- EVS is one of the procedures listed in the job duties. What is this and is it an absolute requirement? No it is not a hard requirement.
