**Gastroenterologist opening in Great Falls, Montana** **Position Overview** - Outpatient, No Call - We are seeking a full-time Gastroenterologist to join an established practice in Great Falls, Montana, serving 80,000 local residents and 275,000 across north central Montana. -This is an outpatient position with no call, supported by a robust team including 2 traditional GI Physicians, 2 full-time GI Hospitalists, per diem GI Hospitalists, 1 Inpatient PA-C, and 2 outpatient Advanced Practice Providers. - Applicants must be board eligible/certified. **Position Details** - Hospital-employed, full-time, flexible schedule with no call. - Current Gastroenterologists primarily perform 12-16 endoscopy cases per day, with the opportunity for additional volume if desired (endoscopy is staffed Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm). - Clinic is located within a 5-minute walk from the endoscopy suite and is staffed full-time with an NP and PA. Procedures: Colonoscopies EGDs Flexible sigmoidoscopies PEG tube placements ERCP and EUS skills are optional Current Endoscopy Information: Five endoscopy suites and one bronchoscopy suite located near the ER and main OR. 10-bed recovery unit with Olympus equipment. Experienced and supportive staff of RNs and techs. Anesthesia services provided; GI Hospitalist has a dedicated suite. Designed as an ambulatory surgical center with occasional procedures in the OR based on patient BMI. Future Endoscopy Information: Expansion to a 22,000 SF space within the hospital, completed by August 2024. Eight endoscopy suites, 10 pre-op, and 14 post-op beds. Continued use of Olympus equipment and support from experienced RNs and techs. Anesthesia services provided; GI Hospitalist has a dedicated suite. Ambulatory surgical center design with occasional OR procedures based on BMI. Work Hours and Call Coverage: - GI call is covered by GI Hospitalists, allowing traditional practicing physicians to focus on high-volume general practices. - The GI Hospitalist typically works in-house from 7 am 4 pm on weekdays, rounds on Saturdays, and performs procedures on Sundays in a dedicated block from 7:00 am 12:00 pm with endoscopy staff and anesthesia. - While this position involves 24-hour call, the ER and ICU overnight teams generally handle urgent/emergent GI cases the next morning, reducing overnight call interruptions. **Community Details** Great Falls, Montana, serves as the base camp for art and adventure in the state, offering a unique blend of small-town charm and outdoor recreation.
