Hospital has new opening of Gastroenterology-Outpatient physician locum need in IL.

REQUIREMENTS: BC or BE in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS, Moderate Sedation.

LICENSE RESTRICTION: Candidates must have an ALREADY ACTIVE Illinois license, active IL DEA, and CS.

SCHEDULE: As soon as credentialed and payer enrollment completed. Full time, every week, Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (Outpatient Clinic and GI Procedure Lab). Start time for MAC blocks is 7:30a.


Proof of Covid vaccination is required.


  • Practice Type: Group: Multispecialty Group
  • Licensure Requirements: Active IL Medical, DEA, & CS licenses
  • Number of Physicians in Department: 3 Gastroenterologists, 5 Colorectal Surgeons
  • Boards & Certification Requirements (BE/BC, ACLS, PALS, etc.): BE/BC – Gastroenterology; ACLS, BLS, Moderate sedation
  • Patient Population Mix (% of Peds, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatrics, Medicare, Medicaid, other): 100% Adult, Geriatrics; Mixed Payer
  • Average Number of Cases per day (patients, Inpatients, follow-ups, etc.): 40% Clinic w/ 30-minute consult intervals and 15–30-minute returns. 60% GI procedure lab w/ length of scheduled procedure based on average of last 30 cases. Sedation is procedure sedation or MAC based on criteria. Separate MAC blocks for patients that meet MAC criteria.
  • Description of support staff: 6 full-time and 2 part-time Ambulatory APPs in clinic. RN and CMA/MA in clinic; RN and Surg tech in Procedures.
  • Locum Tenens work and call schedule: M-F 8a – 5p (Outpatient Clinic and GI Procedure lab). 7:30a start for MAC blocks. No Call requirements. Closed on major holidays.
  • Procedures Required (types of procedures to be performed): Outpatient Colonoscopy and EGD; GI Hospitalist will do inpatient procedures. ERCP and EUS skills would be great but not required
