Description:
Contract Length: 6 months

Shift Details:

Mon, Wed, Fri 8a-3p (surgical center)

Tues, Thurs 8a – 5p (clinic)

Work Details: Each provider rotates hospital call every other week. After hour consults are seen before and after office hours at 7a and 4p. Urgent consults after hours and weekends are sent to other campus.

Support staff: 2 mid-levels, 2CMAs, 2 RNs, 2 Registration Staff, 1 Office Supervisor

Amount of coverage needed per month: Full Time

Patients per day: 14

Patient population/age: Adult

Department description: Combination of hospital rounding, clinic and consults. 7 exam rooms. No admissions.

EMR: EPIC

Technology: Pill Camera (No lab or x-ray on site)

Hospital bed size: 169

Special procedures: PEG (preferred)

Job Responsibilities

Skills required: GI Endoscopy (upper and lower) w/biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs laser), banding of varices, Esophageal dilation/manometry, small bowel biopsy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy w/biopsy and excision of polyp.
The following procedures are not required: Internal Medicine, ERCP, EUS, Liver biopsy, Esophageal manometry interpretation or Insertion/mgmt. of Sengstaken or Blakemore tube.

Requirements:
Board Certification: BC
State license: SC
DEA: Yes
CSR: No
Certifications required: BLS
Minimum experience required: Must be out of training and have been practicing medicine for at least 2 years.
Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days w/license; 120 days without
