Position Title: Gastroenterologist
Location: Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) in Little Rock, AR
Work Schedule: Full-time, On-site
Regular Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Compensation: $280-310/hr
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) in Little Rock, AR. In this role, you will provide comprehensive outpatient clinic services for gastroenterology, conduct endoscopy procedures, and offer inpatient gastroenterology consultations for medical care on-site.
Responsibilities:

Outpatient Clinic Services:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and examinations for patients presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, diagnostic tests, and clinical findings.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding gastrointestinal health, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.

Endoscopy Procedures:
- Perform a variety of endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy.
- Ensure procedural safety and patient comfort throughout the duration of endoscopic examinations.
- Interpret endoscopic findings and provide timely reports to referring physicians for further management.

Inpatient Gastroenterology Consultations:
- Respond promptly to requests for gastroenterology consultations from inpatient medical teams.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal disorders, provide recommendations for management, and participate in the development of treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with primary care providers and other specialists to ensure continuity of care for patients transitioning between inpatient and outpatient settings.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any US state.
- Completion of fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to veterans.
