The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in coastal Charleston, SC, has an exciting opportunity for a Physician-Scientist in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology to expand our research in Digestive Diseases. The MUSC Gastroenterology Division was recognized as high-performing in Gastroenterology and GI surgery by U.S. News & World Report, meaning it ranks among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation.
Ideal Candidates:
- Completed an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship and Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Early to mid-career clinical researchers with interest in liver, IBD, or motility research
Opportunity Details:
- Join the only institution in the United States with both P20 and P30 grants with a total of $21.7 Digestive Disease Research funding
- GI-dedicated clinical research infrastructure with significant institutional investment to grow Digestive Diseases research
- Opportunity for individualized laboratory space based on investigator’s initiatives
- Highly collegial clinical team of 21 clinical physicians comprised of general GIs, Hepatologists, GI subspecialists, and advanced Endoscopists

- Strong collaborative support from colorectal surgery, GI pathology, GI radiology, and Pediatric GI
