POSITION DETAILS Gastroenterology (GI)

• Inpatient
• Mon-Fri: 8a-5p with evening and weekend call
• They will accept candidates who just want to work the day shift or just want to work evening and weekend call. Will have the option to do both if desired
• Will see new consults and perform procedures during the day
• Average 5-10 new consults per day
• The current GI hospitalist averages about 60 colonoscopies and EGDs weekly. Most come in overnight or early morning but don’t require anything emergent and can be consulted on the next day
• The on-call GI physician gets called back into hospital emergently after hours on average 3-4 times per month
